You can memorize your brain by putting all your thoughts and ideas in your journal that you can use later in the day or some days later.

So what this memoization is about?

Let’s start from the start, Journaling. I’m sure you’ve heard this name before. Maybe in a youtube video or maybe through a mutual friend of yours.

Journaling

Journaling is a concept of writing things down so that you can clearly visualize the things that you should be doing in a particular time frame.

So it’s like a to-do list?

No Journaling is more than a to-do list. it’s like a notebook where you put your ideas down and go back to them when need them.

It’s like time travel for you because you can put ideas and stuff down in your notebook and always take them whenever you want them.

How you created that design or how you started your first startup are all things you can put into your journal.

And what about memorization?

What is memorization? Well, that question a computer engineer would answer but I’ll explain in simple terms.

Take a look at this image below.

How memorization works

Image contains two major components — Input, Output, and System that checks if computed data exists and stores if not.

Storing the data if not exist already is called memorization. The system actually memorizes the data and simply gives output without calculating on next request to the system if data is found.

Same way, our journal works. It memoizes all the thinking we do all day and whenever we need it we simply use the journal to see what we’ve achieved and how far we need to go.

Why journal?

There are many other reasons to have a journal with you but personally, I feel memorization is one of the major reasons why I use journals every day.

I reduce the time to see what’s left and what to work on by simply looking into my journal getting a clear idea of what’s left and improvising accordingly.
